On 10th November, a senior delegation headed by Vice-President Chen Jingying from Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance visited The Sino-British College (SBC), University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST). Other members of the delegation included Professor Xu Wenxin, Dean of the School of Finance, Professor Pei Zhen, Dean of the School of International Economics and Trade, Professor Hu Naijing, Dean of the School of Information Management, Professor Fang Shoujiang, Dean of the School of International Education, Professor Xia Yu, Vice-Dean of the School of Accounting and Li Weidong, Deputy Director of International Office.
At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Tian Weifeng, Vice-President of USST and Dean of SBC, extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance. Professor Ma Xiaoting, Director of USST International Affairs Office and Professor Linda Liu, Vice-Dean of SBC, gave a brief introduction on the establishment and the recent development of SBC.
Discussions on the unique model of SBC, managerial approaches, staffing, teaching methodologies and campus development were held at the meeting. Professor Chen gave a high recognition for the achievement made by SBC, in particular establishing an effective managerial mechanism for teaching and administration which fits for the purpose of Sino-foreign JV education. It is hoped that the two institutions can strengthen the links in the future to enhance the level and quality of its international education.
Following the meeting, the delegation was shown around the SBC campus by Dr Liu Bin, Secretary of Joint General Party Branch and Deputy Director of Campus Management Committee, Fuxing Campus, USST.
