On 3rd November, the 2016 SBC New Student Chorus Competitionwas held successfully on the SBC Campus. Taking the theme of “Love of Hujiang, Dream of Fuxing”, this competition is one of the gifts from our students for the 110th Anniversary of USST and 10th Anniversary of SBC. Yang Hua, Secretary of Tianping Street League Committee, Xuhui District, Gordon Callan, Head of the School of Languages, Education and Cultures, Dr. James Abbott, Head of the School of Engineering and Computing, Dr. Vernon Sommerfeldt, Head of the School of Business and Management, together with staff representatives and over 500 new students took part in this competition.
The figures of 110 and 10 have a very special meaning for the 2016 students of SBC. Therefore, in the chorus competition, college history was reviewed with songs selected by each class in the form of a time-axis. According to the time cut of "past - present - future", the chorus competition was divided into three chapters. There were 50 international students in the 24 teams taking part in this competition, who presented a song together with Chinese students. Foreign academic teachers and student tutors were also invited to join the team, competing side by side with students.
At the end of the competition, five tutors for Year 1 students brought the song "Just Like You" to all new students and teachers. The “Love of Hujiang, Dream of Fuxing” 2016 SBC new student chorus competition came to a successful conclusion.
