Officials from Chinese Service Centre for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) of the Ministry of Education visit SBC

On 14th May, Che Weimin, Deputy Director-General, and Han Sanjun, Senior Programme Manager, Division of International Co-operation, the Chinese Service Centre for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE), visited the Sino-British College, USST.

Professor John Wilson, Principal and CEO, Liu Bin, Secretary of Joint Party Branch and Deputy Director of Campus Management Committee, Fuxing Campus and Professor Linda Liu, Vice-Dean of SBC met with the officials on behalf of SBC. Professor Shirley Ma, Director of USST International Office and Andy Ritchie, Assistant Director, UK Degree Programmes of SBC also attended the meeting.

The senior visitors were shown around the SBC campus before the meeting in the SBC Board Room.

Following a brief introduction on the international development of USST given by Professor Ma, Professor Wilson gave a presentation on the running of SBC, in particular he outlined the achievements of the College since 2006 and the strategic plans included in the draft Vision 2025. Professor Wilson expressed the view that, as a secondary college of USST and a Joint Venture institution, it is expected that the implementation of Vision 2025 will also contribute to the fulfilment of the strategic objectives of USST and of the region. Professor Linda Liu said: “We are grateful for the strong support from the government for the successful development of SBC over the years. The College is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and we are confident that SBC will continue to grow with joint efforts by all staff and students and continuous support from USST.”

In response, Mr. Che congratulated SBC on its achievements and kindly advised on certain aspects of its strategic plans. He expressed the view that, with the continued support of the Chinese and UK partner universities, SBC will further enhance the quality of teaching and the overall student experience.
