On April 25 and May 9, The Sino-British College, USST and NYU Shanghai held a friendly basketball match at the SBC sports ground and a friendly football match at the Shanghai Locomotive Stadium. The match attracted plenty of students and staff from SBC and NYUSH to watch and cheer on their teams.
The basketball match was held at SBC. As the host, Professor Ian Gow, SBC Principal and CEO, warmly welcomed the basketball team from NYUSH. Meanwhile, a stirring performance by the SBC cheerleaders and an international student music DJ heated proceedings further. Although SBC was defeated narrowly by NYUSH in both matches, students from both sides got to know each other and built friendships in the process of competing.
SBC always encourages students to take part in a variety of activities, and exchange experiences on student management with other universities in Shanghai. This friendly match lay the foundation for exchange between SBC and NYUSH, both higher education institutions generated by Chinese-foreign cooperation. Both sides expressed the hope that there would be much more similar exchange and communication activities between SBC and NYUSH in the future.
