2014 Year 4 Events Management Client Events: Home Sweet Home

2014-06-1981

April 25, Home Sweet Home, one of the Year 4 Events Management Client Events, was successfully held at the SBC English Tearoom. The event aims to bring love and caring to people from disadvantaged groups. Home Sweet Home is a local charity organization which helps the homeless, disabled and other vulnerable groups to learn basic living and working skills.

For this event, the Events Management students designed several interesting and interactive games based on their experiences of working in the Student Union, which involved all participants, including guests from Home Sweet Home, SBC student volunteers and staff. Everyone spent a wonderful and happy afternoon. Professor Ian Gow, SBC Principal and CEO, also joined the event. On behalf of the SBC, Prof Gow gave gifts to Home Sweet Home and invited them to visit SBC next time.

In SBC, Year 4 students studying for the University of Huddersfield Events Management degree take a course called “Managing Client Events”, for which they are required to put on live events for charities and other organizations at off-campus locations.
