2014 Year 4 Events Management Client Events: Nordic Baltic Music and Culture Festival

2014-04-2958

April 18, the Nordic Baltic Music and Culture Festival, one of Year 4 Events Management Client Events, was successfully held at the USST. The Nordic-Baltic Culture Centre of USST and a group of Year 4 Events Management students co-hosted the festival. The festival lasted about three hours and attracted students and residents living nearby, who gave lots of positive feedback for the event wishing to take part in the festival again next time.

Harrieth Saaf, Deputy Director of Nordic-Baltic Culture Centre of USST, gave the opening speech in welcoming all the participants. During the festival, people were able to acquire a full knowledge of Nordic clothes, food, music and the beautiful scenery of Nordic countries through various performance, exhibition and games. There also were many DIY opportunities for people to have fun, such as making postcards, painting Easter eggs and making ginger cookies.

In SBC, Year4 students studying for the University of Huddersfield Events Management degree take a course called “Managing Client Events”, for which they are required to put on live events for charities and other organizations at off-campus locations.
