March 8, 2014 SBC International Talents Training and Development Forum and Recruitment Press Conference was successfully held at the SBC library. Professor Ian Gow, Principal and CEO of the Sino-British College, warmly welcomed the honoured guest for the occasion, Ms Chen Ping, Party Secretary and Deputy Principal of Hangzhou Xuejun High School. Outstanding representatives of SBC students and their parents joined this forum.
Prof Gow said in his speech, “In SBC, we focus on students’ independent learning training, critical and creative thinking which will ensure their competitiveness in the workplace after graduation and make them become compound talents in future.” Since SBC was founded, our graduates always performed excellently in the search for employment. Although the job market currently is not optimistic, SBC employment rate remains over 96%.
Zhang Yi, graduated from Ningbo Xiaoshi High School and also a SBC excellent graduate in 2012, shared the story of his study. Having graduated from SBC, he went abroad for further study at University of London and received a Master’s degree with a performance of some distinction (top three). Now he works at the Shanghai Electric & Wind Power Equipment Company. Zhang Yi said, “With benefits from international education, I have many more advantages than students who have graduated from traditional Chinese universities.”
Fan Yi, a Year 2 student in SBC, graduated from Hangzhou Xuejun High School and shared her learning experiences in SBC with all the participants. As Fan Yi’s teacher in High School, Ms Chen Ping, Party Secretary and Deputy Principal of Hangzhou Xuejun High School, gave full recognition to the international education of SBC, and expressed the wish to enhance exchange and cooperation with SBC on international education.
Finally, Lin Yan, SBC Recruitment Director, introduced admission work arrangements and schedule for the year ahead to all the participants. And the first entrance examination of 2014/15 recruitment was completed successfully.
