2014-03-1362

On 4th - 6th March 2014, a delegation of 18 representatives from SBC’s nine partner universities in the UK visited the Sino-British College. This annual visit was organised by NCUK to deliver professional university entrance counselling service for overseas study to Year 2 students currently studying for a 2+2 split degree at SBC.

During the counselling mission, SBC students were offered professional guidance and advice face-to-face in choosing universities and courses for their future study in the UK. Enquiries on subjects, student life overseas and career opportunities after graduation were also answered. In addition, university representatives shared the latest information on innovative and career-oriented approaches to teaching and learning in their respective universities.

Another purpose of the annual counselling visit is to enhance the mutual understanding between the SBC student body and the British partner universities. Students were encouraged to talk to representatives from different universities to help them make an informed decision on where to go after their two years’ study at SBC.

Many representatives had participated in such counselling visits to SBC before, and after meeting with the students, they expressed that the overall quality of the student body at SBC has greatly improved in recent years. They were impressed with the high level of English language proficiency and communicative skills that SBC students demonstrated during the counselling process, as well as the strong confidence and international vision that they showed for their personal development in the future.
