Students Display Their Talents at SBC’s First Arts Festival

2013-06-1459

From May 14th to May 17th 2013, the SBC Arts Festival was held successfully on SBC Campus. During the four day long event, students gave splendid performances at the Skyline Farewell Concert and the Teenage Dream Chorus Concert. Students also showed their talents in the Student Union Photography Exhibition. SBC teachers and students had a wonderful time throughout the festival.

Skyline Farewell Concert

Skyline is the most popular rock band at SBC. The band’s Farewell Concert was held outside the library as the opening show for the Arts Festival.  Some members will leave the band this summer, and the group wanted to show their gratitude to fans and to those who had supported them throughout their time together. The concert started with “Make me wanna Die” by The Pretty Reckless which set the audience rocking. One and half hours of great rock-and-roll brought lots of fun for everyone on site. After the show, many students said that the band had managed to give a fantastic performance as they always do, and how exciting it was to have such a good rock band at SBC.

Teenage Dream Chorus Concert

As the most featured show during the festival, Teenage Dream Chorus brought a fabulous musical which was about a girl pursuing her dream without fear. Held outside the library, the show attracted many audiences who watched the whole concert despite the rain. Prof. Ian Gow, principal of SBC, attended the concert and performed a song on the stage, which raised the atmosphere considerably.

Student Union Photography Exhibition

The Photography Exhibition was the last part of the Arts Festival, and displayed hundreds of photos taken by SBC students. Walking in the library or along the hallway decorated by various photos which recorded every shining moment of students’ activities, the exhibition brought a flood of happy memories for everyone at the SBC. Members of SBC Photography Club also showed their own photography, which received much praise from teachers and students, struck by the beauty of those photos and photography know-how of the club members.
