A delegation of 20 representatives from SBC's nine UK partner universities, consisting mostly of academics and international officers, visited the SBC from the 5th - 7th March 2013, in an annual delegation to SBC organised by NCUK. The group of distinguished guests aimed to deliver professional counseling service for overseas study to Year 2 students currently studying for a 2+2 split degree at SBC.

NCUK university entrance counseling, for example, provided guidance and advice to SBC students in order to help them choose universities and courses for their future two years of study in the UK. In addition, the courses enhanced mutual understanding between SBC students and our British partner universities.

During this year’s three-day counseling session, university representatives met with more than 300 SBC students and answered their enquiries including courses and subjects, student life overseas, and career opportunities after graduation. Representatives also shared the latest information on the innovative and career-oriented approaches to teaching and learning in their respective universities.

Sabrina Yang, Director of Operations at SBC, commented on the event: "We are very pleased that our students have learnt to take the initiative in thinking and planning ahead for their future study in the UK. SBC have nine British UK partner universities which offer our students a great number of options in terms of universities and courses. This counseling service, provided by our partner universities, has assured a smooth transition for students who study their degrees partly at SBC in Shanghai and partly in the UK."

In the debriefing session, the university representatives expressed how impressed they had been with the high level of English language proficiency and communicative skills that SBC students had shown throughout the counseling process. The group was also impressed with SBC’s recent achievements, especially in upgrading campus facilities, strengthening academic teaching and research, and internationalizing the student body.
