SBC Academic Staff Annual Christmas Party

2012-12-2878

On December 21st 2012, the Academic Director's Office hosted the annual Academic Staff Christmas Party at the Camel Sports Bar. About 100 people attended, including staff from SBC’s various academic departments, directors and members of administration units, for a great night of party fun. SBC has a highly qualified academic team comprising over 80 international staff from 15 different countries around the world.

It is traditional for SBC academic staff to celebrate Christmas together each year in addition to enjoying party food and drinks at this festive time.

This year’s festivities saw a  Pool Competition which added to the general fun and excitement. The tournament was played out in a tense and thrilling atmosphere, with 16 teachers competing against each other for the top 3 prizes.

Congratulations must go to Bob Jewison from the Division of Business Management who took first prize, Ben Griffiths also from the Division of Business Management who came out in second place, and to Ian Kennedy and Tom King (both from the Centre of EAP) who shared third prize.

Colin Wanmer, Deputy Principal (Academic) and Director of the School of Business & Communication, expressed his delight at seeing all the SBC staff have such a great time together, and felt that the relaxed and entertaining environment provided by the Camel Sports Bar and the special events of the night allowed the perfect opportunity for colleagues and friends to mix and get to know each other better.
