On the 14th of November, Professor Ian Gow OBE, Principal and CEO of SBC, was invited to speak at the Annual Conference for 2012 of the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) – ‘Global Perspectives: developing strategic initiatives, educating for a world economy’.
Held in Shanghai, this year’s conference explored the impact of a rapidly changing global economy on the field of overseas study and the ways in which educators and professionals can provide students the tools necessary to flourish in this exciting new environment.
Professor Gow was invited to present his opinions at a pre-conference workshop chaired by Elizabeth O’Neill, Executive Vice President of CIEE Asia and attended by over 20 US colleges & universities. Through a series of informed and challenging presentations, the workshop discussed and addressed issues concerning the present and future of educational partnerships and initiatives in China.
Drawing on his many years of in-depth expertise in the establishment and running of Sino-UK higher educational Joint Ventures in China, Professor Gow shared his views and experience for developing successful educational partnerships in China and discussed ways to set up the right framework for lasting success.
