Earlier in June, SBC Year 2 Engineering students Kan Wei and Yang Xiao won scholarships in the ‘Continental Automotive System’ sponsorship programme.
Continental Automotive Systems is a global Fortune 500 corporation from Germany. It was founded in Hanover in 1871 with 141 years history. The Continental Corporation has 193 production locations and R&D centers in 37 countries all over the world. Their product portfolio includes Electronic Brake Systems, Instrumentation & Driver HMI, Transmissions, Engine Systems and so on.
The sponsorship programme is targeted at Grade 2 and 3 engineering students who are interested and willing to work and grow with the corporation. In addition, the candidates require good study results, strong language and team working skills, integrity and flexibility. Students who win a scholarship under this programme receive internal technical training and internship opportunities that may help them securea job placement within the corporation after the graduation.
Several inaugural graduates work for the Continental Corporation and as a result of their excellent performance, the corporation continue to offer this great opportunity to SBC students.
Kan Wei and Yang Xiao took part in a number of interviews and tests as part of the scholarship process. Arepresentative from the Human Resources department at Continental Corporation said that they were impressed by the strong capabilities of SBC students and look forward to further opportunities to work with SBC in the future.
