Two students from SBC were part of the winning team in the 2011-2012 Virtual Investment Club Competition at Leeds Metropolitan University alongside their British teammate Tomas.
Shi Songtao was the team leader and his fellow Chinese teammate was Li Jun who are studying at LMU through the SBC 3+1 programme. It is the first time that Chinese students have won in this competition. In a short period, their team earned a profit of £12,500 from a virtual investment of £100,000 and generated the highest profits to win the prize.
The Virtual Investment Competition was organised by the faculty of Business & Law at LMU and leading stockbrokers Redmayne Bentley. The aim of the competition is to encourage students to practice their business skills and knowledge, and further develop the skills that they need in their future career. Each year it attracts about 100 students from the faculty.
