Year 3 Events Management students have enjoyed a busy, exciting and fulfilling week as they successfully organised a number of charitable events that were very well received by students and staff. The most impressive achievement was that across the ten events organised by the students, an amazing total sum of 16,000rmb was raised for charity.

Among the activities organised, 'group one' students hosted 'Music on Fire' and attracted an audience of over 200 with money and other donations received totaling more than 800rmb. Although the weather was freezing cold on the day, the enthusiasm of the audience soon warmed up the event site. They sang along together with musicians from 'Sit Up' and 'Yin' bands. They also cheered on the contestants who took part in the 'hot dog eating' game!

'Group five' students organised a 'Re-live Your Memory' event that gave everyone an opportunity to cherish their childhood memories by enjoying classic cartoon movies, video games exhibitions and taking part in some popular children’s games. Teachers at SBC donated toys so they were also able to hold an 'Auction of toys' and in total about 300rmb was raised for charity.  Roy, the leader of group five said that he was delighted that the event had received so much positive feedback from all participants and most people commented that they had particularly enjoyed watching the cartoon movies.

'Journey to Mystery' held by 'group four' students attracted an audience and volunteers of over 100 people and raised about 600rmb for charity groups. Fans of 'magic' and 'vampires' had a lot of fun by visiting three horror rooms set up in the SBC library that had been designed by the organising students.  Tiffan, the leader of group four said that it was very exciting to put into practice some skills that they had learned in class. Tiffan and her team members really enjoyed organising the event and said that they really appreciated the help of all the friendly and hardworking volunteers and their tutors.

'Food Festival' turned out to be a hot event for all food lovers. The 'Crazy Panda Party' was so much fun for the participants who took part in the cooking activity. 'Island Bonfire' made the impossible possible by creating a fantastic indoor Hawaii barbecue.

Other events were also very successful and very much enjoyed by SBC staff and students including 'Event E', 'Century of Change in Shanghai', 'Fixed Gear' and the 'KO-Team Contest'.
