Two groups of senior visitors from Manchester Metropolitan University and University of Salford visited SBC in the first week of November.

On 1 November, Stuart Horsburgh, International Director of the Business School and Dr Xin Shi, Senior Lecturer in Statistics from Manchester Metropolitan University met with Principal Gow. The visit aimed to further strengthen the cooperative ties between MMU and SBC, in particular student placement and development of courses on business and marketing-related subjects. This was also a follow-up visit for the meeting between Principal Gow and Professor John Brooks, Vice Chancellor of MMU in August this year.

On Friday the 4th, a delegation from the School of Media, Music & Performance at the University of Salford visited SBC. Members of the delegation include Professor Erik Knudsen, Head of the School, Matt Bell, Deputy Head and John Sweeney, Manager of the International Media Centre.

On behalf of the SBC senior management team, Principal Ian Gow welcomed the delegation and gave a presentation on the recent development of SBC. It was suggested that given the current Media City strategy at Salford, courses on media technology in cooperation with USST Publishing and Printing College which is moving to Pudong Media City might be introduced to SBC and offered in Shanghai for the benefit of SBC students. Colin Wanmer, Director, and Andy Ritchie, Assistant Director (Teaching and Learning) of the School of Business and Communication, and BK Wong, Director of the School of Engineering at SBC were also present at the meeting.

After the meeting, the delegation also paid a visit to the Publishing and Printing College of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology.
