2011-10-0990

We are delighted to announce that Feng Chuan, an Events Management student from SBC, was awarded the "Excellent graduate" prize from the University of Huddersfield in the UK. Subsequently he received several job offers from famous multi-national enterprises and chose to accept a position at the Swire Group. During the inaugural SBC Graduation Ceremony in August, Feng Chuan gave a wonderful and touching speech on behalf of all graduates. He said that SBC ‘taught him that university life was not only one thing, but many things, that help a student become well-balanced and independent’.

The SBC graduate statistics for 2011 show that out of the 96% of graduates who have received offers for jobs or further studies, 41% of students enrolled in domestic or foreign universities to continue postgraduate studies. Among them, 79% of students chose to pursue further education in the UK with the knowledge and confidence of learning in a British style education system that they gained during their studies at SBC.  For example, Wu Yijia has enrolled at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, Wu Di has enrolled at the London School of Economics and Political Science and Qin Hao has enrolled at the University of Bath in England.

Other graduates chose to seek employment instead of continuing their studies and 55% of graduates have received job offers, 44% of which are from multi-national corporations or Fortune 500 companies. Many employers gave positive recognition to our graduates and were complimentary about their skills and knowledge.  They all commented that students from SBC demonstrate good communication skills, speak fluently in English, display great teamwork spirit and can offer a wealth of knowledge due to a variety of internship placements experience.

The following are some quotes from our graduates:
