From 12 October to 15 October,the finals of the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition 2024 concluded at Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Minhang Campus. After intense competition, SBC students won two national silver medals, marking the best-ever performance in the international track of the higher education main track. This achievement further highlights the college's remarkable success in exploring new talent cultivation methods and innovation and entrepreneurship education.
In this competition, WristDoc MEMSync, a project by students from SBC and the School of Health Science and Engineering, 2 colleges of USST, won silver medal in the international track of the higher education main track. This student team was the only one to win silver medal in the international track among the six USST teams who entered the national finals, achieving a historic breakthrough for USST in the Competition 2024. Additionally, Freeze Smart Fruits: Innovating FD Vacuum Freeze-Drying Technology, Leading a New Era in Deep Processing of Agricultural, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, and Fishery Products”, a project by students from 2 colleges of USST, SBC and the Business School, won silver medal in the undergraduate entrepreneurship track of the higher education main track.
Since the Competition 2024 was launched, USST and SBC actively promoted and carefully organised the event, providing guidance on multiple occasions. The participating teams worked closely together, striving for perfection, continuously refining their projects based on expert feedback to improve their quality and competitiveness. The outstanding results achieved in this competition are a testament to the hard work of all the faculty and students and the school's strong emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship education.
SBC will continue to leverage its internationalised education advantages, deeply integrate high-quality domestic and international resources, and push forward reforms in talent cultivation models and institutional mechanisms. It will further improve the guidance and service system for college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship, integrating innovation and entrepreneurship education throughout the entire process of talent cultivation and in all aspects of teaching and learning. By fostering a vibrant atmosphere of innovation and entrepreneurship, the College aims to cultivate more international talents in engineering, management, and cultures with strong leadership, innovative thinking, and cross-cultural communication abilities.
